Dance - General Information
Shellie Gorman, Department Chair
Richland Academy provides
an excellent opportunity for students to develop
skill in dance technique, performance, self-discipline,
confidence, respect and an appreciation for dance
as an art form. Our dance program is 32-weeks which
culminates in the annual spring dance recital. Classes
are divided into graduated levels designed to facilitate
learning as well as to protect and nurture the physical,
social and mental development of children. We offer
creative dance for our youngest students and introductory
classes for students who wish to dance on a nonperformance
track. Open enrollment is through December 1st, after
which time we will accept new students by waiting
list.
Spring
Dance Recital 2008
I Am A Dancer, A Dancer I Am will be the theme for our 2008 Spring Dance Recital. Join us for a Dansuessical celebration of Dr. Seuss and his imaginary world. This annual recital
will feature our students ages 4 and up enrolled
in our 32-
week program. The recital is an exceptional development
opportunity for dancers and a joy for family
and friends. It
also incurs overhead, equipment and personnel costs
to
Richland Academy. Your recital fee includes one
complimentary ticket and costumes are yours to keep.
You
will need to purchase under-garments, tights and/or
shoes
per class dress code specifications.
If you plan on
dancing in the recital, the following items must be
turned in no later than November 30.
1. Properly completed Recital Waiver Form
2. Recital Fee - $45.00
