Rebecca Moore , Instructor - Currently on maternity leave

Suzuki Method

In the 1940's the late Japanese violinist and educator Dr. Shinichi Suzuki from Matsumoto, Japan recognized the parallels between young children learning to speak their native language and learning to play a musical instrument. For that reason the Suzuki method can also be called the "Mother Tongue Method." Suzuki teachers develop ability and train the ear before the eye: students are first taught basic listening and playing skills before note reading is introduced, in the same way children learn to speak and comprehend before they learn to read. Parental involvement in the lesson is essential to the success of the Suzuki learning method. Parents are obligated to attend all lessons and help in home practice. There exists a triangle between parents, teacher and student to promote the highest possible level of achievement.

Rebecca Moore recently received her certification from Suzuki Music Columbus and the International Music Festival. Her Bachelor of Music degree is from Kent State University and she is an active soloist, orchestral performer with the Ashland symphony, chamber musician and teacher. She also teaches at St. Peter's, Foundation Academy and PCTC Performing Arts Program.

Each student is required to attend a weekly 1/2 hour private lesson and attend a monthly group lesson.

Tuition: $20.00 per week for 1/2 hour private lesson.

Tuition: $10.00 per month for group lesson

Please call 419-522-8224 for available private lesson times.
