Grown-Up Clay Class - Beginners

Calling all grown ups who still enjoy playing in the mud...This class is for you! Learn all about basic hand molding techniques as well as the glazing and firing processes and create some wonderful clay pieces for your home or for holiday gifts. No experience necessary.

Adults

Fall 2010- September 15 - January 19

Spring 2011 - January 26 - May 18

Tuition: $175.00*

Material Fee: $15 (Firing and Glazing)

*Clay not included, instructor will provide clay at an additional cost.

 

Grown-Up Clay Class - Intermediate

This class is a continuation of the Beginners class. You must take the beginners class to join.

Adults 

Wednesday 1:00-3:00pm 16 weeks

Spring 2011 - January 25 - May 17

Saturday Workshops For Kids

Sept. 18  Jumpstart Art 11-2

A great way to kick off the first workshop is with ACTION ART! Learn about Jackson Pollock and participate in really messy art projects your mother would never let you do at home.

         

Oct. 9th  Hamsa Charms 11-2

Learn about the importance of these charms in various cultures and create your own to ward off evil spirits this Halloween season!

        

Nov. 20th Pioneer Art 11-2

Create art in the pioneer fashion. Students get to experiment with quills, candle making and more.         

Dec. 11th Gift Giving 11-2

Students will be making Holiday gifts, wrapping paper and all! Each student will leave with at least 3 hand made presents to share.

          

Jan. 15th Pop Art Desserts 11-2

Sweeten up those drab winter days. Learn about pop artist Wayne Thiebaud and create a plaster sculpture of your favorite dessert.

Feb. 12th Heart Art 11-2

Create one of a kind Valentine's with a variety of printmaking techniques.

Mar. 12th Go Green 11-2

The Leprechauns will be proud that we are environmentally friendly this month. Students will create art from recyclables.

April 9th Hop into Spring! 9am-12noon**

Learn from the art of Beatrix Potter and paint animals in watercolor.

May 7th Polymer Clay Day 11-2

Using Georgia O'Keefe for inspiration, students will create floral sculptures from polymer clay for Mother's Day or any day!

$25 each or all 9 for $200 - Includes at least one project to take home and lunch.

All classes are 11am-2pm, except April 9th which is 9am-12noon.

 

Funky Felt Purses
Pat Olson , Instructor

Join us as we reuse and recycle old sweaters into new treasures. Creative, usable purses will be your reward. Please bring a good pair of scissors.Stop in our Discovery Shop to see samples of these works.
