Maria Getz spent ten years in NYC where she performed, directed, taught drama and English, as well as studied at the Atlantic Acting School and Jayd McCarty Studio. She previously served as a drama teacher and director at Convent of the Sacred Heart School and York Preparatory School. Maria spent five summers as a drama instructor in the Upward Bound program at her alma mater, Bowling Green State University. From there, she earned her Master of Arts in theatre with a concentration in youth theatre and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts in theatre and philosophy from Ashland University. She has presented at the TYA/USA One Theatre World conference and the Autism and Arts Symposium at the University of Northern Iowa and is a member of American Alliance for Theatre and Education and Theatre for Young Audiences/USA.
