The Richland Academy Dance Ensemble, aka rade, is a pre-professional training company.  It is divided into four groups based on age and skill:  rade, rade jr., radKidz, and radKidz2. Our top company includes dancers from around the community: Chloe Walker, Madison HS; Kylee Dettmer, Clear Fork HS; Madeleine Weilbacker, Lexington HS; Rhapsody Howell, Mansfield Senior HS; Meiyan Timberlake, Ontario HS; Delaney O’Brien, Ashland Middle School; and Laila Ramos, Mansfield Spanish Immersion.

This year’s performance will feature our students dancing an array of styles including: Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, student choreography pieces, and a very special senior solo by Rhapsody Howell.

The show will feature Vivaldi’s Concerto in D minor part 1, which has opened the show for the last nine years.  You will also see an excerpt from the classical ballet Swan Lake.  Erin Wolford, our newest dance instructor, will show off her choreographic style in a few jazz and tap numbers. Sarah Horrigan-Ramos is honoring the great choreographer, Paul Taylor, by presenting her own choreography based on his dance style. The senior level dancers will amaze you with their performance of Marden Ramos’ new choreography; Marden’s neo-classical style pushes his dancers to perform at their highest ability. Whether a group piece, duet or solo; his choreography, highlights each dancer, and will send the audience on an emotional journey through music and movement.
