60+ Dance Fall 2018

60+ Dance Classes

We offer classes for both beginner and experienced tap dancers. Whether you are ready to try something new, or you're interested in polishing your dance skills, we have the perfect class for you!


STRUT Your Stuff II

This class is for the beginner tap dancer!  This group is a cohesive tap group that has tappers of all skill levels and is structured in a way that allows for new skills and  routines to be learned in a fun and supportive environment. If you’re looking for a way to enjoy the art of tap dance with no pressure to perform outside of the studio, then this class is for you!

Instructor: Erin Wolford

Thursdays 2:30-3:30 pm  

Weeks of September 10-November 15, 2018 (10 weeks)


STRUT Your Stuff

You may have seen them around town...Strut your Stuff, better known as STRUT, is a performance tap group.  These ladies sure know how to "strut" and put on a great performance! If you are a tap dancer over the age of 60, this may be just what you are looking for!

Instructor: Linda Elgin

Thursdays: August 31, 2017- December 14, 2017 (15 Weeks)

Time: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Joan Secrist
Instructor Emeritus

Joan graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester, New York majoring in business and sociology. After graduation she worked in Social Services Department of Rochester General & Genesee Hospital. Joan was an assistant & partner in the Marjorie Miller School of Dance and the Shaker Heights Invitational Dance classes at Alcazor Hotel. In 1955 Joan started dance classes in ballet, pointe, tap & jazz at YM-YMCA in Mansfield, where she taught for 17 years. She has choreographed for the Town roast, Starlight Revue, and many choir and musical theatre productions at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. For the last 13 years she has taught STRUT, the 60+ tap class at Richland Academy for 60-80 year olds.
