KidzRock January 2019

Explore your inner Rockstar!

Back by popular demand!  Over the course of 8 weeks band members, ages 4 to 7,  will rotated on drums, electric guitar, and keyboard to prepare to sing and play in their end-of-session concert.  Instructor Nate Wieland teaches students to become young rockers who will perform LIVE here at the Richland Academy.
KidzRock is a music program developed by musician Dave Simon that teaches children as young as 4 how to play an instrument in the setting of a rock band.  Children learn how to read color-coded standard music notation while playing on modified instruments for smaller sized hands. Easy-to-play songs especially written for children allow these young rockers immediate access to performing and singing in a rock band. The program creates a unique experience by combining instruments, theory, singing, and ensemble.

About the Instructor:

Nate Wieland

Nate has been a prominent member of the local music scene for several years as the front-man for the Black Lounge and most recently Chief of Hand Jam Tribe. He hosts a special breed of jam night, known as Hand Jam, and it's all ages counterpart, Fam Jam. A program in which children and adults alike are introduced to the joys of making music. Fam Jam has been welcomed at many libraries, detention centers, schools, and parks. Nate works at Metronome Music Inc during the week where he is lead organizer of the annual Metronome Music Fest, a charity concert event aimed at raising funds to pay for music lessons for underprivileged children. His weekends are filled with raising his two children and jamming out as Chief.
