Voice and Piano

Janet Guetle completed a music career teaching at the Mansfield City School district in Mansfield, Ohio. While in urban education, she embraced diversity through teaching techniques and musical selections relatable to her students.
She found success while teaching elementary and middle school vocal music, co-directed and accompanied the high school choir, and even taught beginning strings for four years! During her career as a public school teacher, she also raised two daughters as a single parent.

Janet holds a sacred music diploma from Moody Bible Institute as a piano major. She obtained a bachelors degree in vocal music education as a voice and piano  major from Wittenberg University.  She obtained a masters degree in vocal performance from Northwestern university. During graduate school days, Janet began studying classical organ along with vocal studies. Her professional training in organ began first with Adeline Huss at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Upon receiving a teaching position in Mansfield, she was able to continue professional organ studies with Haskell Thomson and David Boe from Oberlin College.

She is now in graduate study at Cleveland State University, studying organ with Todd Wilson, considered around the world as one of today’s finest concert organists.

Janet’s previous organ positions have been Ontario united Methodist church, the First Presbyterian Church of Mansfield, and the first Congregational church of Mansfield. She also served the First United Methodist church of Massillon. She currently serves as organist at a parish in the Cleveland diocese.

Janet has extensive experience as an organist, accompanist, choir director, praise team leader and vocal soloist.
