Sarah Horrigan-Ramos

Sarah Horrigan-Ramos Dance Department Chair

Sarah began her dance training at the age of 6 in Ashtabula, OH under the direction and guidance of Shelagh Dubsky. During the year Sarah trained intensely and performed in the annual Nutcracker and Spring dance concerts. She spent summers participating in musical theatre productions and dancing at various ballet intensives including Pittsburg Youth Ballet, Ballet Met and Princeton Ballet. She furthered her education and intensified her dance training in the BFA program at Fordham University & The Alvin Ailey School of Dance. While at Ailey she performed works by many choreographers, including Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Pascal Rioult, Nathan Trice and was one of the original members of the Yaa Samar! Dance group. Sarah and her husband Marden lived in Barcelona, Spain for 2 years and returned to Ohio to be closer to family. In 2008, Sarah and Marden joined the Richland Academy Dance Department Team! In the past 11 years, Sarah has truly enjoyed teaching the next generation of dancers; from the 3 year old creative movement classes to the advanced company dancers. We focus on teaching proper technique, self-discipline, respect and appreciation for dance as well as nurturing the love and joy of dance as an art form. Dance and the arts enrich all of our lives and teach all of us wonderful life lessons.
